stop smoking signs

All people in my family who have passed b/c of cancer were smokers who smoked for 15+ years and stopped. After about 5- 10 years cancer showed. The rest of the members in my family who continue to smoke and have been smoking show no signs of cancer and say they're not going to quit because of it. My aunt even spoke to her doctor about it and says there may be something in the tobacco that may keep it dormant or not allow it to grow. I think it may be the tar because they say that cancer needs oxygen to grow. What do you think? Stop smoking or not?
I'm 24 I smoked for 2 years and quit. I feel awesome. When I smoked I tasted all the chemicals going into my body with every puff and it disgusted me so much I put them down. My sister still smokes and I'm trying to convince her to quit. She relies on them because its the only thing that helps her with stress (so she says) hmph. Thanks for the answers too I'm going to give them to her.

i have smoked 23 years and i can t believe its been so long,and im only 38. I quit last summer for 4 months and never felt SO good in years. I started back from an ex-wife issue and was the stupidest thing i ever did. I have quit again just this morning. I have not smoked a cigarette ALL day. Its a start,but a promise to my child and myself that i live a more healthier life style. I tell my self two things. "There is nothing GOOD about smoking" and "I'm a puff away from a pack a day" I really cant see me smoking the rest of my life. I stopped running,swimming and daily excersise when i started smoking. It effect two major receptors in the brain and is directly linked to cocane and heroin receptors in the brain. It also causes brain fog. 4000 additives in the cigarette one being carbon mooxide which is a gas that comes out the tail pipe of your car cant be good. Out law the damn things!!

Smoking is injurious to health. Smoking makes you impotent. Smoking kills non-smokers. Say no to smoking.

I'm afraid I could get sick, plus it smells really bad. It's hard to breath when I smell cigarette smoke especially in an airconditioned place. Our office building specifically has a smoking ban, but of course he is my and I can't just point him the no smoking sign. Please, I want to know how to approach him in a way that he won't get offended or disrespected.

My dad is a really heavy smoker, he almost always has been. He goes out for a smoke almost every other hour. My mom got him to stop once, but then we drove cross-country 3 years ago, and he went out for a smoke he said it was "just one, its no big deal" but he has been since, and he is already showing signs of lung cancer. Please help!

now, what u have to do is,,,when ur dad is smoking in front of u ,u have to sit there near him and ask him,,,,,FOR a CIGAR,,,,yes u have to do that
now ur father will ask u what do u want to do with that,,,answer that u too want to smoke
and in addition tell him that u are my idol and u want to be like ur father
and for that u r copying him....
that will realize ur father to stop smoking..........

She's old, but she always smokes in the lady's room. We work in a public building and we all have to share the bathrooms. 90% of the time I go in there, it stinks like cigs. It's really gross. And the smell goes out into the selling floor. I have already put signs up that read "for the health of others, please refrain from smoking in restrooms" But that hasn't stopped her. Everyone that works there knows she does it, but no one wants to say anything. What is a nice way to talk to her?? I really need to step up because it's really nasty. Any suggestions???
Even the smokers that work there hate it. They all go outside, why can't she??

If she's old and can read, she should know better. Unless it is posted as a designated smoking area, it is illegal for her to smoke in the restroom. Tell a manager or other higher-up about it. If you are not comfortable with that, ask if there is an anonymous hotline you can call. They will get in touch with the manager and try to help resolve the situation.

I'm a smoker and, even I don't like the smell of old smoke, and I don't want to smell where I work. It's unprofessional what she's doing. Tell someone.

Just started all of a sudden ,not low on oil or water .no water in oil. just rough idle.

Maybe an intake leak which is occasionally sucking up small amounts of coolant. The manifold leak would also account for the rough idle.
