My son has been caught & now says he WON''T stop smoking pot !! I don't know what to do !! I've grounded him & taken away the cell.
There is nothing wrong with smoking pot. I am 21 and haven't smoked pot since high school. There is nothing wrong with, the more you make it seem bad the more he is going to act out. You know pot smokers are the ones you see stereotypically on tv, they just act out. Honestly, if you offered to toke up with him, he would probably want to quit. If he sees you wanting to do it, i might make so uncomfortable that he wants to quit. You really should be happy he didn't start drinking. Also, if you let him smoke grass at the high house, you wouldn't have to worry about him getting arrested. Most 16 year olds are riding around in cars and its dangerous and high likelihood of getting caught.

How can I do it,how can I stop smoking,it sounds simple but it takes a lot of effort.

just stop. lol and if the people you hang around with do it, than just hang around them less, and find another hobby
he's my 3rd of 5 children. he lives in a nice small town in mexico. i live in houston. he wants to stop smoking, but will occasionally smoke again. smoking pot's not terrible, but i believe it's very unhealthy for a young persons developement. what are the best steps towards helping my son stay away from pot.
The ultimate decision lies upon your son. Unfortunately he is the only one that can get him to stop smoking. I know it is heart breaking my sister did it for a long time, even as much as I tried it didn't work. He has to figure out how it is impacting his life in a negative way and be willing to change for it. He has to want help. And more often than not people who smoke pot think there is no problem there is only to things you can do let him know that you love him and you are their for him and how it plays a negative role in your life.
I have been smoking pot everyday for a little over year, and in the last six months- several times a day. When I say that I am going to stop I always end up smoking the next day. I am always hanging out with my best friend and all we do all day is get stoned, listen to music, and sometimes drink. I tried dating a friend of mine but I never seemed to find a good moment to kiss her, very much of a loserish thing to do. I know. But that's what I'm dealing with, low confidence and an unescapable will to smoke pot even when I have very important things to do. I can't ever say 'no' to my friend. I also don't know what I would do (for fun) everyday if I wasn't smoking pot.
pot is not addictive. you make it seem like it is...mentally. you can stop anyday. and i am not just speaking out of my ass. it is easier to say it than to do it, but come on... its not like you have been smoking for over 30 years and then you decide to stop. THAT is difficult. but smoking pot is not fun at all... what do you do when you get stoned, just laugh at stupid things and be lazy... its incredibly boring to hang around somebody who's stoned..trust me. So you want to do something for fun everyday? life isn't about having fun everyday buddy.... there's more to life than just 'fun.' sure you can have fun sometimes, go out fishing, camping, exercising with a friend, SPORTS, boating and stuff like that... they are all fun and they dont include getting high and being dumb. and your friend wants you to smoke pot with them everyday? find new friends. if your friend started doing crack cocaine, acid, and all that other junk, would you do it too? i think you would if you continue to be buddies. that is a very good way to stop smoking pot.
and u cant quit cold turkey style. try smoking once a day, to once every other day, once every 2 days, once every 3 days... well you get my drift.

As expected, the subjects inhaled less vapor from the stronger pot, more from the weaker pot, achieving similar THC blood levels regardless of the cannabis they received. reports that the subjects absorbed, on average, 54 percent of the released THC, compared to the 20 percent or so typical of smokers, while avoiding the toxins generated by combustion. Health and comfort considerations aside, this marijuana-conserving difference could easily justify the investment in a vaporizer for regular users. The Volcano retails for $540 or so, and there are cheaper competing products, although I don't think has gotten around to rating them.
