Is half of 4mg nicotine chewing gum the same as 2mg?
nicotine gum

I bought 4mg nicotine chewing gum instead of 2mg. If I have half of 4mg is it the same as having a 2mg?

no it isnt...

as a long term addict of chewing gum i can say that i used to think that..but the 4mg gives more nicotine as u chew.....

as with a cigarette, nicotine is brought into ur system in one big burst to begin with..then just topped up over the day.

a 4mg gum, even half of it,give u most of the nicotine it contains, then little top ups as u go back to it!

Is it bad for you chewing nicotine gum all the time?

My dad used to be a smoker. He has stopped for a while. However, for some reason he has started chewing high strength nicotine gum all the time (4mg) about 15 pieces a day and is addicted to it. Is the gum doing his health any harm (never mind the expense)?

First it only contains nicotine, you are not inhaling tar or carbon monoxide, which does most of the damage, so it is far less dangerous than smoking. There also appear to be few if any long term safety issues identified. Try and wean yourself off gradually a piece at a time. After all you managed the big one and gave up smoking, this should be doable.

How do you quit chewing nicotine gum?

I started smoking 3 years ago, and i quit. I rarely have one, but I never smoke the whole thing because I'd rather chew the gum. I have been chewing the gum since last July. It's too expensive to keep buying. I don't want to try any other methods, I just want to quit the gum. Any advice?

i started substituting sugar free gum for every other peice of nic gum and slowly weaned off of it. Also if you continue to have one cig then you are wasting your time and money on nicotine gum.

are the nicotine patch companies and nicotine chewing gum companies owned by big tobacco?

I always wondered that.

No, they are owned by Big Pharma.

Chewing lots of nicotine gum and toothache?

Hi there, not been smoking for two weeks but I have been chewing gum in its absence. My molars are really aching now when I chew anything. Can chewing lots of gum damage my teeth or will they just toughen up?

Congrats on giving up smoking. I gave up on my third attempt in '91. Try and say-I won't smoke just for today-even breaking it down to an hour at a time. The days then build up.
I don't think your teeth will be damaged but your jaw muscles will get a lot stronger. Whilst you chew the stomouch produces more acid to cope with the food that doesn't appear-so you may get stomouch ache!
