How does one manage the stress in life after giving up the one thing that took you away from life for a moment to chill out. It feels like nothing is good enough except for choclate, which makes you fat. how can i calm that beast inside me ?
I started running or doing some heavy cardio to help out. It kept the weight gain down. Deep breathing through the craving helps. I also found that dark chocolate helps and is not quite as bad for you as most candy bars. Licorice is also pretty good. I have heard that things like pure cinamon and ginger are pretty good to curb cravings. Good luck to you. Remember--if you can make it for 3 minutes during the craving, it will go away.

my best friend discovered he's got diabetes (type 1) yesterday. he's 6'3" tall and wieghs 115 kilos. he's been an avid cigarette smoker for the last 4 years and as of today, he smokes anything between 7 to 10 cigarettes a day. I know i have to get him to quit, but i don't think quitting instantaneously will be possible. what should i do? get him to come down to a cigarette or 2 in a day first and then gradually kick it or abandon asap because of his diabetic condition? It's very important for him to quit smoking it's bad for him and others. Have him too take a $50 bill and burn it that's what he's doing when he buys the cigarettes. Also have him to consider this those tobacco exectives don't smoke that tells us something.

ive quit smoking for almost 3 weeks and have gone from 140 to 172lb. thats 32 pounds in 3 weeks. i was very lean and i just lost control. i used to use cigarettes as an appetite supressor with my diet but now i find it very hard to stick to a diet. its like the 3rd day that i give in. dieting is extremely harder since i quit smoking. i feel lke i have to eat everything. im gaining hella fat and i need to nip it in the bud. any advice to get my fatass moving in the right direction instead of wineing on yahoo?
The next time you go grocery shopping, get Lean Cuisine or South Beach Diet stuff since they are supposed to be in Total Cholesterol. Stay away from candy and junk food and eat something that is high in fiber and low in Cholestrol - you will feel a lot better and you will lose weight in no time, and get out and excercise and possibly mean up with friends and/or relatives and walk with them.

I truly believe that smoking is more of a psychological addiction than a physical one. If people are struggling to quit then they must discover the reasons why they smoke and then eliminate or change these thought processes. First I should let you know that I use to be a Tobacco Cigarette Smoker and was getting fed up with every time I turned around the price to smoke was continually going up due to increased taxes.
