hypnosis to quit smoking

if i take lexapro 10 mg and on ocasion some nites i take ambien to sleep (but i havent used the ambien 5mg in over a week now) can i still use hypnosis to quit smoking , ive been on lexapro for 2 weeks now.

I cant see why you couldnt use hypnosis, the best bet would be to check with your doctor. But i think they would weigh up any pros and cons and it would be way more benificial to quit smoking!!

Does it work? It has become obvious that I don't have the will power but I really want to quit. Any other recommendations?

I want to quit smoking, its really a nasty habit. I can't grasp the hypnosis idea fully because I can't see where it would affect the physical addiction any, so if anyone out there used this method, I would love to hear about your experience and if it worked on you.

The only way to quit for good is to take the cigarettes you have on you and throw them all in the garbage. Tell yourself you'll never buy another pack and stick with it. Try to realize the money and good heath your wasting on such a nasty habit. You'll do fine.

Has anyone out there ever had it done? For what condition? Did it work? How much did it cost?

It's not too expensive, maybe $50 to $100 dollars per session, but I don't believe it works. My cousin had it to prevent labor pain, but guess what? It didn't work. Also, on the show MythBusters, they had 3 different people try different forms of hypnosis and it was proven to not have worked.

Ever try the "Quit Smoking Today" hypnosis program by Robert Mellor?
I just purchased this MP3 and wanted to give it a try. I was wondering if anyone had any first hand experience with this and could give me their opinion. The reviews online are great. It does not come with instructions though. Do i quit first and then listen to the audio, or do I just listen and then I will want to quit? Any help, advice, or first hand accounts would be greatly appreciated.

Chantix is expensive. $500 for a three months supply. You better have insurance that covers it.

I recommend cutting down gradually until your quit date. I did this. I cut down to half a pack. I did this for three months. I smoked by the puff, not by the cigarette. I took only the amount of nicotine that was necessary to satisfy my urge to smoke and put the rest of the cigarette out.

After doing this for three months I quit cold turkey. Good luck no matter what you do.
