nicotine urine tests

i took a urine drug test because i recently got an alcohol citation. i am underage. i know they test for drugs but will nicotine show up, and if so will that make the result automatically positive?

If the test screened for nicotine, then yes, it could assuming you used nicotine in the 24 hours prior to the test.

However, most drug tests only screen for illegal drugs (THC, methamphetamine, heroin, etc). You should be okay.

I'm currently being drug tested with a five pannel urine test and a nicotine urine test, I was wondering if I could take the tests and heat them in the oven above a certain temp. renderring them unable to show a positive for a drug. Particulary the THC test.

hey buddy. I work at Redwood Toxicology Lab in California. Ive been working there 8 years now and I could tell you its almost impossible now to cheat a test like this unless you have someone elses urine. Because if you try and drink to much liquid like some people think will help you end up having a low Creatine level which the lab will not accept and u will have to be retested. Trust me its near impossible nowadays to pass tests unless you have someone elses urine thats the only guarantee. And if you do plan on doing that make sure the tempature is between 92-100 degrees. if its colder or hotter then they will know your cheating. thats a little tip for you.lol

I have been smoking almost every day for the past several weeks and I'm probably getting a new job soon. The job I've applied for requires a urine sample test to look for "controlled substances." Will they disqualify me for employment if they find nicotine in my urine sample? Or is it just for illegal drugs like marijuana?

For the record: yes, I know smoking is bad for me. I've only been smoking for a couple weeks and I'm working very hard to quit.

When they say "controlled substances" they mean "ILLEGAL controlled substances."

Nicotine is legal, and the test doesn't even look for it. Caffeine is also a drug but it's legal too.

I am having gastric bypass surgery 9/11 but have a nicotine test coming up 8/29 and I have started smoking again and I have a friend that is willing to let me use her urine. Do you think it will be possible to do?
thank-you for answering my question. I am a 54-year old woman that has battled weight for 33 years. The only reason I started smoking again was I recently lost my Mom to pancreatic cancer after a year long battle. I had quit for 8 months and after I buried her I started again. Yes I can follow the guidelines for the surgery . I have been through all of the testing and nutritional classes and am ready to proceed except for the nicotine problem. I had been scheduled late last year and when Mom got her death sentence I was afraid to go ahead not knowing when I would be needed to help with her last days. I may sound weak but just so everyone knows I'm not. Thank-you once again

All you would be accomplishing by the deception is creating a more dangerous situation for yourself by lying about your nicotine consumption. Gastric Bypass Surgery is a very serious procedure and I'm sure it has already been explained to you that there is a potential fatality rate that is a reality and not a fantasy. The precautionary measures taken by the surgeons is crucial not only for the success of the operation but also for your own health and recovery from the trauma of the procedure. Media and other reports of this procedure have given it the image of being a simple everyday not to worry go for it operation but the reality is that there are and have been complications resulting in severe to fatal outcomes. Get real and stop playing games. We're talking about your Life here!!!
