My hubby & I are quitting. He's using the patch, I'm trying to go cold turkey. I know the nicotine will be out of me 1st, but is there a time range specific to your body weight or age?
Actually 2 weeks to get the nicotine out of your system,I know this because my husband needs back surgery which the surgeon told him he had to quit smoking two weeks prior and they would do a blood test to make sure there was no nicotine in his system and if there was he would not preform the surgery. Also the patch or gum have nicotine, but it's a hell of alot better then smoking as there are so many chemicals in cigarettes.
The urge for a smoke will drive you nuts for a few weeks or so,and you will always crave the damn things.I chose the patch and Welbutrin, there is also Chantex which blocks the nicotine to your brain which in turn decreases your cravings.Wish you guys the best of luck and don't give in stay strong and remind yourselves what a nasty habit it is,also try sucking on a lemon slice takes your craving away right now!

I want to know how long you should quit using nicotine so that it does not registar on a urine test.
Not sure how long it takes, but nicotine is legal, so I'm curious to know what your situation is. I don't smoke but I get a lot of secondhand smoke from friends and family members. Secondhand smoke is cheaper anyway. :-)
I've smoked for a whole lot of years(I'm 61, and smoked since I was a kid). Was smoking about a pack and a half a day before quiting "cold turkey" a week ago. They say the body starts to heal itself almost immediatly after quiting! Is that true?

Is there anything you can take to flush the nicotine out of your body when you quit smoking?
I would suggest drinking lots of water and taking two 500 mg tablets of vitamin C with each meal for a few days, then cut back gradually. Smoking destroys Vitamin C in the body, so taking a lot of it will help repair the damage that smoking did to you.
Nobody will tell you it is easy, but you really must stay off tobacco. Good luck!
Nicotine leaves the body in 2-3 days <depending on nicotine levels> ... Typically if you can make it a year without smoking then you've 90% quit for life.
