nicotine alcohol

The pundits argue that cannabis impairs the judgment of people...but alcohol impairs many Americans every day. So what's the difference? And then the argue that cannabis is addictive...but nicotine is just as addictive and it's legal. Why the contradiction?

Because there is no money to made from cannabis. Think about how much money the alcohol and cigarette makers take in. You can't grow your own tobacco, and its a pain to brew large amounts of liquor, where as you can grow cannabis. In some parts of the country cannabis grows like a weed (no pun intended).

Of course, I am very interested in hearing answers to this question... Why are alcohol and nicotine, arguably the two worst drugs, legal and not demonized the way other recreational drugs are?

The political Kennedy family made their fortune from alcohol... and prohibition was a disaster. The argument for alcohol would be it's historical significance.

They all create a bondage to the particular durg and all cause harmful effects to the body. Why did you buy into all those lies? They don't help you they only hurt you, but now you are so addicted you can't stop.What are you going to do?

It's aspects of this culture, the good is bad and the bad is good in mans eyes. People know that these are bad, but once you're of the mindset that is promoted in this world as being "good" and "normal" and you begin to put these things within your system, you become attached to them, conditioned to them on a cellular level (chemically). It's the conditioning factor which makes man continue to use these things in frequent, their is no will in one without self consciousness; they are not conscious and being mechanical it becomes a continuous use.

They use it because at this point they can't stop.

I dont understand the rationale. Marijuana is illegal but alcohol and nicotine are not. Marijuana is no more harmful to the bodily system than alcohol and nicotine consumption. Do you feel it should be illegal?

I agree with you....I feel that the state of it being illegal is because they have people who can't handle so therefore they feed off of the person's ignorance. I have seen some of the smartest people get degrees and recognition while consuming marijuana. Especially in the political world, you have members of congress and other state legislatures getting high on a daily basis and its not just with marijuana if you get my drift. In Denver, its legal, so why not make it legal for the whole United States..there are few people who have high titles that are doing it.
