I am going to undergo a surgery and they did a general test as well as a urine test. I had a little bacteria for which I was prescribed augmentin 1 gram for 5 days twice daily. I was wondering if the general urine test or bac test would reveal the chlamydia or should it be intentionally tested to find out? I mean should I have asked to also test for it? Thank you very much!
I'm pretty sure they have to specifically look for it. Also, if the results showed you had an std they would have to inform you and they would also strongly suggest that your partner be notified.
If you believe you have an std tell your doctor. They do a urine test for chlamydia, but they may also want to take a vaginal swab to test for it as well as other stds.
If you would rather, go to a free clinic that you can find listed under the Department of Public Health in your city. They will test you for all stds anonymously.

Can chlamydia show up in a urine test one day after intercourse occurred??
The day after I had intercourse, I gave a urine sample and I was positive for Chlamydia. But...I had an exam/papsmear 3 weeks prior and tested negative.
Usually not. The usual incubation for chlamydia is a few days to a few weeks. I know it's difficult to wait, but a test at 7 days after intercourse would be most reliable.

You should know that your pee comes out of a different hole than the blood from your period. Being on your period should not affect the outcome of the test.

For men the chances of finding Chlamydia in urine are higher if you have not passed urine for a few hours before the test.
For women a more accurate test involves a swab being taken the opening of the cervix.
...please contact reception regarding your results. I presume this means it was positive? Otherwise why would they ask me to call them? Its a saturday so cannot call them.... anyone else had this?
unfortunately my boyfriend and i had it. i thought it was sa urinary tract infection so i would take the antibiotics. get rid of the symptoms, have sex with my bf and then get the symptoms again. it was awful so its pretty much a burning sensation when you pee and an irritation that u just cant scratch inside your vagina. but it clears up very quickly once u get the right medication. so dont freak out.
and as for doctors they dont give any results out unless its in person or on the phone and they know its u. its a privacy thing. so u might not have it
