I recently got put on probation and have to submit to random alcohol/drug tests. I don't undestand what it means when they say alcohol test either. I'm a college student and unfortunately I'm not of age to drink but it's hard not to occasionally when I'm surrouned by it all the time. I have been freaking out because I don't know what is going to happen. If I do drink how long will the alcohol stay in my system? How in depth are these tests? I will be 21 in a couple months and I don't need to drink either so please don't judge me. I'm just a college student and I like to have fun and sometimes enjoy drinking. I'm just worried that I will drink and then get busted by this test. Any info or advice or anything will help me out but please don't judge or give answers telling me that I don't have to drink. I already know I don't have to but I like to every once in a while so please just straight forward answers or advice please. Thanks.
The man will pop up one day and say blow in this tube and pee in this cup. Fail either one and you are in violation of your probation and probation can be revoked and you go to jail. If you can't figure this out on your own you have no business being in college.

Kombucha is a non alcholic beverage that anyone can buy that is fermented and thus has a trace of alcohol. I go to a place called global drug testing for random drug and alcohol test, and i know their alcohol test are really sensitive.
Doesn't the bottle say how much alcohol is in it? I think it's less than .5% and it shouldn't be a problem since the percentage is so low. But other wise if you're really concerned, I would agree with the person above and say take it with you.
I'm on felony probation and took a random drug/alcohol test for a different program, not treatment related, and it turned up positive for alcohol. Can my po use it to violate me?
Yes your PO can. There are essentially two ways that the PO can approach the positive u/a. The PO could go the route of violating your probation through the "do not use alcohol" clause in your probation contract. What is more likely will be a violation through the "participate and comply with treatment."
Your use of alcohol is likely a violation of the rules and conditions of your treatment program and could end up getting you kicked out of the program. You being kicked out of the program would be a big violation and would tell your PO and the Court that you are ready to go to prison.
For your sake and the sake of your family, I hope that you get help.

A friend of mine has recently been ordered to not drink for 12 months with random urine tests as a result of a DUI. These non alcoholic beers have very little alcohol in them, but there is still less than .5%. She really likes the taste of beer, but does not want to violate probation. Does anyone know if she could have one of these nonalcoholic beers and still be safe? Thanks.
Even though it's listed as Non-Alcoholic beer, there is a very small amount.
She needs to as her PO about it or ask her lawyer.
I do not do drugs or anything. But I did have a beer about 30 minutes before my test. Do they test for alcohol and what will happen if I fail the drug test for alcohol?
DoD labs are equipped to test for marijuana, cocaine, amphetamines, LSD, opiates (including morphine and heroin), barbiturates and PCP. But not all samples are tested for all of these drugs.

FleetMag.com- Article - FMCSA conducts drug and alcohol strike force
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has announced that 77 commercial bus and truck drivers are off the road and more than 80 carriers face enforcement action as a result of FMCSA’s first national drug and alcohol strike force.
From September 8 to September 18, FMCSA safety investigators examined the drug and alcohol safety records of commercial drivers employed by bus companies, interstate passenger carriers, hazardous material transporters and general freight long-haul trucking companies.
The 77 commercial drivers who face the prospect of civil penalties for failing to adhere to federal drug and alcohol regulations can no longer operate a commercial motor vehicle and will likely face a monetary fine.
