Black Ooze

Tried mint candies but ended up munching them all day. I really need to kick the habit of chewing tobacco and gum. Please help!

Try eating something instead when you feel like chewing tobacco. If you've had a chewing tobacco addiction for a long period, then maybe your doctor can advise you better? I personally love to chew gum, what's wrong with that?

can champix be taken to quit chewing tobacco addiction ?
The Parasite

chantix works by stopping the brain from receiving the signals of pleasure from the tobacco...and so, after you take it for a week, you start stopping. my husband was a smoker for 30 years, and he quit using this method 7 months ago. he still occasionally on a bad day says he wishes he could have a cigarette...but he doesn't. It only works if you want it to. considering all the danger you are in from mouth cancer, it would certainly be worth a shot!
google it, and there is pro and con info out there! good luck

Chewing tobacco addiction?

to start this off I'm a 15 year old who is addicted to chewing tobacco. I started this past summer and fell in love with it. I guess the reason I started doing it was the euphoric place it took me too, a warm beautiful summer day and a dip was what I loved. I told myself I wasn't addicted/wouldn't get addicted. Then the school year came around, I'd say for the first month I was doing good everything was fine I felt great about myself I loved waking up and coming home to that dip. But then it went downhill. I couldn't fulfill my craving during school so I would feel this horrible feeling until I got my dip. I never really knew what was causing these horrible dull feelings, but than I came to the conclusion I was addicted to dip. I started to get lazy with school not really care when I did dip I was to relaxed to give a sh*t about school, so I decided to lay off the stuff for a little while. So I came back to it in hopes I could have the same feelings, but of course not still the crappy feeling. I'm really trying to sum things up here so bare with me. Just three weeks ago I quit the longest I ever had which is 2 weeks WOW such a long time not....I took a dip yesterday....Why? I have no idea and it gave me a little buzz and it didn't put me in that place it did over summer. I'm typing right now and I feel crappy with the dull feeling over just that one dip which tells me I'm still addicted and I know I am. I also really wanted to quit because of all the health concerns and I hated being addicted to it. So has anyone ever quit and just really missed that euphoric place it took you? I'm just curious how I get over this hump.

i have never been addicted to chewing tobacco but i do want to put in my 2 cents. you're 15!!!! your body is not done developing, your brain, your bones, muscles, etc. I want to share with you the real concerns about chewing tobacco. CANCER of all sorts. oral cancer, esophageal cancer (which is incredibly deadly and beyond painful) and others. look it up online. realize, you're messing up so many metabolic processes right now. it is obvious that you need to quit. question is, how?
i don't know how. my suggestion would be to see a doctor. for me, my anti-drug or motivation to quit would be because i knew that if i didn't quit, all these horrible things would happen. and they WILL happen. cancer is directly linked to chewing tobacco as well as general oral diseases. you could lose your teeth! think about that the next time you want a "dip". scare yourself into quitting. that would be my method and motivation.

How can i break my addiction of tobacco? Please Help?

I started chewing tobacco 2 years ago with a confidence that i wont get addicted but now i started using it every 3 to 4 hrs... I know it is harmful and it causes cancer but i cannot break my addiction. Is there a solution for this.. Can i get a deaddictive substitute or what in this whole wide world can save me from this addiction please help me.......

I was a smoker for 10 years. The only way you can leave any addiction is by just stopping the consumption. I can tell you by experience, the first 4 days are very difficult but once you go by them then all things start to be easy. The only thing you need to quit any addiction is the conviction you want to stop.

  • Tobacco is toxic residue warns teen smokers | Stop smoking

Arizona’s new anti-smoking campaign has a logo that creeps like a black widow spider and might possibly catch the imagination of teens so they take a more objective look at tobacco addiction .

Sponsored by the Arizona Department of Health Services, a graphic presentation of the campaign, titled “Venomocity,” was given Wednesday by Lorraine Castro, Yuma County Health Services District employee.

Castro said she tries to counteract the glamorous pitch tobacco companies make so teens are aware of the dangers of smoking.

Aubrey Coil, 16, a Cibola High School sophomore, is one of a dozen teens who attended the Venomocity campaign at the Main Library. Aubrey said all the visuals on display were great so people could see for themselves.
